R.A. Alcala'& Associates, Inc. (RAAI) is an electrical consulting engineering firm specializing in electrical design, transportation-related electrical design, and systems engineering electrical design. Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, RAAI currently is a certified DBE with Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Caltrans, City of Phoenix, Maricopa County, and Tucson Airport Authority, and a certified MBE with the City of Tucson.
RAAI has been offering consulting services for more than 20 years and prides itself on keeping pace with the latest in engineering techniques and application. Our clients include architects, state and federal agencies, local municipalities, and private consulting firms.
Our firm can provide electrical engineering design services for interior building electrical systems; high voltage distribution systems (up to 69,000 volts); special use systems, such as life safety analysis, fire alarms, data, security, public address; highway lighting, traffic signals, ramp metering, and other related design.
RAAI has provided construction administration services as both a sub consultant and a prime consultant. As a sub consultant, we provide these services on a “upon request” approach of the prime consultant. As a Prime consultant, we conduct bi-weekly visits to the site. If a project is multi-site, we will split the project into thirds with different employees conducting the visits to their assigned site on a bi-weekly basis.
RAAI has two electricians, each with more than 10 years experience. Both function within our Field Division, performing full-time electrical inspection services for transportation related projects. These services have also been provided to state agencies and prime consultants as team members. The engineering design staff utilizes our electrical inspectors during field investigation phase of design task orders.
